Big Bird Models known as Big Bird 400 were an all die cast metal model in 1/400 scale. Introduced in early 2000, the models provided a higher degree of detail in the landing gear of popular airframes like the B747’s and B767’s. Like other models, these were produced in the same factory used by Aero Classics and some of its other brands of the time, and used the same high quality standards and production techniques.
In later years Big Bird also produced an all die cast and highly detailed 1/500 scale line. It created a phenomenal impact on the manufactures in the 1/500 marketplace. The models are one of the top lines sought after by collectors worldwide. Big Bird models maintain their price, as well as their resale value of all other comparable brands. Today, Big Bird Models are no longer produced. The availability at the retail level is extremely limited to only a few outlets. Most enthusiast and collectors alike considered Big Bird Models one of the top five models ever produced, for their quality and degree of detail for a collectible model.
