Introduced in 1997 Dragon Wings were the pioneer in the 1/400 scale market. Manufacturers set the Dragon Wings standards for other airplane model manufacturers to match. These models are made in plastic and die cast metal. Their production features the fuselage in solid die cast metal. The remaining parts of the airplane model such as wings, landing gears, tail and horizontal stabilizers are made from plastic. Dragon Wings producers were superior to the other manufacturers as they displayed the model with landing gear up or down. The box containing the model arrived with a "Dragon Mileage" point coupon on the box redeemable at a later time. A plastic stand is also included in the box.
